Make sure you paste them into the new folder before moving to the next step. I made a seperate desktop folder to put them in to keep everything simple. dds files in this folder except for PUBIC1femalebody_1.dds, PUBIC1Lfemalebody_1.dds, and PUBIC2femalebody_1.dds, which NMM put there for you. (AmazingfollowerTweaks.bsa, Arrowsmith.bsa, Duel - Combat Realism.esp, etc.) You'll notice there will not be any. You should see all of your current mod files in this folder. Inside the Data folder scroll down past all the main folders.
(Usually something like C:/Program Files(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Skyrim/Data.) Make sure you update the file through the manager before proceeding to the next step. Once you have it opened in NMM you can find the mod under the "Unassigned" tab, or at least that's where it was for me.
What I did as a work-around is I opened it with Nexus Mod Manager. When I downloaded this file, I had no way to open/uncompress it. Just keep following this guide and you won't need the readme file! It says README inside, but I searched high and low and found no read-me file for this anywhere. Scroll down until you find PUBIC HAIR 1and2.
